5g home internet stuck on 4g

So I am using the 5g home internet and it worked flawlessly for about 10 days, it states now that it's just using 4g instead of the normal 5g. I have rest the 5g modem and rebooted it several times. 5g worked perfectly fine before has something changed with the 5g extended range. Btw I'm located in a rural area in TN.

Add external drive T-Mobile internet

I just got the T-Mobile Fast 5688W gateway and want to connect my Seagate BlackArmor WS110 external hard drive. There are 2 USB-c ports on the 5688W, one is for power and the other is for any other device. I attached my drive via USB-c and it is not recognized. If you know what I am doing wrong, please kindly advise.Thanks in advance

Does Internet Price Go Up If You No Longer Have A Cell Phone?

I’ve had a T-Mobile cell phone for decades and I’m sick and tired of cell phones and texting. (I also don’t travel.) I’m seriously considering getting a Cox landline for $20. The house is already wired for that.  Question for those who got rid of a T-Mobile phone after getting the internet--did you internet monthly bill increase? I could get Cox internet for $50 a month, but I really do like T-Mobile internet.  I really do like T-Mobile phone service, and have never had a problem with it, but I am sick and tired of cell phones, and could save over $25 a month with a landline.

Amazon Firestick streaming error for Netflix, Prime and Disney

I have t-mobile business internet.I am able to connect to Disney, Netflix, and Prime via a computer.When using a Firestick or Smart TV, I can connect and choose a movie on these services, but then get a 5001 error message of streaming not available or a took too long to connect.I’m not finding anywhere to open a port in the T Life app.  Where can you manage different sites?Any suggestions appreciated.

How to enable and disable my networks on Home Internet

I have my Home Internet setup with both 5g and 2.4g networks. I only will need the 2.4g rarely for one appliance that I might use occasionally. How can I easily turn on and off my 2.4g network without having to delete and add it each time. It seems to slow don't my 5g when the 2.4g network is available. Is there an enable and disable switch somewhere available in T-Life that I don't know about?

Website Assets Won't Load with T-Mobile Home Internet... Sometimes

I develop websites, and lately I've been experiencing a weird issue where certain assets (like Javascript files, CSS files, and images) absolutely refuse to load on the sites I'm building. I eventually determined that the problem has something to do with my T-Mobile Home Internet, since it does not happen when people outside my home network view the website. Also, if I use my phone's cellular connection as a wifi hotspot for my desktop computer, the problem goes away. It's not a browser caching issue; clearing the cache and doing hard resets has no effect — usually. Using Chrome devtools, I can identify which assets aren’t loading, and sometimes I can force them to refresh individually, which resolves the issue for a while. But then the problem resurfaces some time later.This issue has been happening off and on for about three weeks now. I've been using T-Mobile Home Internet for a couple of months. I've only experienced this problem with the websites I've been building lately. I have

Turn off Wifi?

I just added mesh wifi to my T-Mobile home internet and now I get great 5 GHz signal everywhere in my house. I’d like to turn off the wifi on my G4AR gateway and use the dedicated mesh as the primary router but can’t find a way in the app or website to do this (I figure the T-Mobile gateway will run better with the wifi off -- less heat, less wifi channel interference, etc). Does anyone have an easy fix? Thanks folks!

how do i delete mesh from t lite app? The mesh doesn't work and I want to delete it from the app. I've since got a new mesh from tmobile. Thanks Michael 😊

Gateway Question re: 5ghz & 2.5

So, I have the 5G Gateway with the 2.4 & 5 ghz bands.  I am trying to change it to only use 5 ghz since 2.4 is extremely slow.  It says it is saved but keeps reverting back.  Is there a way to change it permanently?

Nintendo Online cannot play with other T-Mobile subscribers

I was a Spectrum customer for 2 years and play Mario Party online with my friends, one of whom is a T-Mobile subscriber. I switched to T-Mobile internet on 12/29/23 and now we cannot play any Nintendo online games together. I can still play online with my friends who use Verizon and Spectrum Internet.My friend and I both have a Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway. NAT type B. I also tried the wired connection. We have even tried playing on another friend’s T-Mobile gateway and it seems T-Mobile will not connect with T-Mobile. I am now trying a Verizon gateway and my T-Mobile friend and I are able to play online together again. It would be great if T-Mobile would fix this issue. I do not want to subscribe to Verizon, but I may go back to Spectrum after 90 days if the T-Mobile issue persists

Fire tv 50 inch home internet promo

I made contact with T mobile customer service 4 times. i was able to verify my compliance with activation & promotion requirements. all paperwork completed corrected. was told to contact amazon directly for tv delivery but no way to contact them. This promotion should take place automatically. so its been 6 months. I believe this was a scam from T mobile get people signed up home internet. customer should not be begging retailer for tv promotion. Buy beware from promotions any company. ..Good luck looks like they will never deliver this promo. never again I will  consider changing  Internet company.

Security cameras not connecting to T Mobile Internet?

I switched to T-Mobile Internet last week and got a Gateway that says it's by Arcadyan. WiFi works great on phone and computers, but when trying to set up the home security cameras, it won't connect. I have both Blink and Panasonic cameras and have tried both on the 5G and the 2.4 and neither network is working. Also reset and restarted everything multiple times. What else could I try??

Access Point Question

Curious.. I see two devices are connected to my Mesh access point and they have a better connection. Is it possible to shuffle  between a mesh connection and the router? Example, my work computer is connected to the gateway although I am way closer to the access point.

Where is my rebate?

When I signed up for T-Mobile I was told I would be getting a $50 gift card as a rebate that I could use to pay my bill. It has been over 6 months and I haven’t gotten my online gift card. I want to use it for my bill this month. Why have I not gotten this?

Thermal Issues With Home Internet Gateway/Router as a Cause of Dropped/Slow Internet or Wi-Fi Connection

I am a Newbie here and a fairly new T-Mobile Home Internet customer. But my background is electrical engineering and I've been around a while. Like many community members I have experienced frustrating degradation of my internet connectivity after a period of operation, which is temporarily fixed by cycling the Gateway's power (otherwise known as a soft reset, not the paperclip nuclear option). The standard fix per T-Mobile Tech Support is to just perform that reset, which isn't a “fix” at all. Though many others have noted the thermal connection, I feel it’s time we get organized on this. Without going into great detail and after surfing a number of forum threads and through my own direct experience, I have become convinced that the primary cause of the various complaints expressed by posters is heat buildup in the Gateway's enclosure and a subsequent compromise in performance in one or several of the Gateways numerous devices. Alcatel Linkzone 2 not turning on after factory reset.

Recently I wanted to factory reset my Alcatel Linkzone 2 box because I noticed it was becoming really slow. So I did so and now it's just stuck on all lights on and not turning off, anyone know how to fix this?

I am using the model FAST 5688W gateway and want to login to that to change SSID and wireless password. I cannot login via the gateway’s IP address of 192.168.12.1 (it brings a page says use the app to control the gateway). Any help will be great. Thanks,

T-Mobile Fiber CGNAT & IPV6 Questions (How Do I Get Support?)

I was just connected to T-Mobile Fiber this weekend and I’m trialing it out.    It looks like their fiber service also uses CGNAT (Why?!) which is killing some self hosted appliances that I need for work.I’m trying to figure out if I can access externally via IPV6 but there aren’t any resources online yet.I’m also trying to find out if I can pay for static IPs or business service but there isn’t any information about that yet, either.Making this tons easier is that T-Mobile only offer chat support.  The support system says it’s open Mon-Sun until 9p EST.  Funny enough, after two days of trying to connect I only get the message that no support reps are available.Does anyone know of any way I can speak with techs for the fiber service?

Isn't T-Mobile Fiber violating their own TOS with CGNAT

You are not permitted to use your Device or the Service in a way that we determine:Operates servers for commercial purposes, uses applications which automatically consume unreasonable amounts of available network capacity, or otherwise uses the Service or Device for purposes other than the personal residential use;That implies personal use is allowed, but CGNAT makes it so you can’t host a personal website, Minecraft server, etc. all personal non-commercial uses.
