Just got TM Home Internet and have the RT-AX68 U router as well as the XD4 router with 2 nodes. What’s the best way to set this up? I’m thinking of the AX68 in router mode and use the XD4 as nodes throughout my 2 story house. I’ll have more than I need. But, my confusion is, even if I turn off the Gateway SSID’s should I use different SSID names on the AX68U? I’m not sure if having the same SSID names on both the Gateway and router, even if turned off won’t cause conflicts. I’m thinking of having a different SSID on the Gateway, turn it off and use the router as the main wifi/ethernet source.Maybe put the router in AP mode and let the Gateway do it’s thing? Some say it’ll get hot and need to be rebooted often.Ahhhh, each will have it’s pro’s and cons I guess but I’m open to suggestions?

I just received my T-Mobile Home Internet gateway (Nokia 5G21 - gray). Everything connected fine except for my SolarEdge Inverter. My SolarEdge Inverter requires an Ethernet connection. I connected the SolarEdge Inverter to the Ethernet port on the T-Mobile gateway, however, it will not resolve the DNS needed and connect. I’ve tried both Ethernet ports with the same result. I’ve connected a laptop to both Ethernet ports and both work fine.Any advice on solving the DNS connection issue? (Specifically with SolarEdge Inverter)
So i got my 5g gateway today, very easy setup, and very impressed by initial speed test on my phone. All mobile data turned off i got 18ms, 497 Download, and 30 Upload on my phone. So i quickly grabbed an ethernet cord (Cat 6) and wired it directly to the gateway, but got 55ms, 80 Download, and 10 Upload. Out of curiosity i went microcenter and picked up a Internal PCI WiFi card, installed it, installed the proper drivers, and did a speed test, and the speeds went up to 120 Down and 30 Up. This is technically okay for my personal use, but i would appreciate the full 300+ that I'm consistently getting on my phone. Any fixes for this or at least any insight as to why it is throttling my connection speed to my PC. I’ve never had a wired connection be slower than a wireless connection I'm the multiple years of IT work I've done.
Hello all, While on T-Mobile Home Internet, when I go to whatismyipaddress.com I’m getting “my IP address” as 220.127.116.11 that seems to be a proxy/capture/filtering device in New York: IP Address Lookup for 18.104.22.168 in New York, United States (whatismyipaddress.com) When I ping this address from my own home location, it is over 100-500 ms: ping 22.214.171.124 -tPinging 126.96.36.199 with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 188.8.131.52: bytes=32 time=389ms TTL=63Reply from 184.108.40.206: bytes=32 time=287ms TTL=63Reply from 220.127.116.11: bytes=32 time=419ms TTL=63Reply from 18.104.22.168: bytes=32 time=296ms TTL=63Reply from 22.214.171.124: bytes=32 time=141ms TTL=63Reply from 126.96.36.199: bytes=32 time=150ms TTL=63Reply from 188.8.131.52: bytes=32 time=111ms TTL=63Reply from 184.108.40.206: bytes=32 time=146ms TTL=63Reply from 220.127.116.11: bytes=32 time=114ms TTL=63Reply from 18.104.22.168: bytes=32 time=140ms TTL=63Ping statistics for 22.214.171.124: Packets: Sent = 10, Recei
Hello,so I am reading a lot up about T-mobile internet and so far I really believe if you are close by a cell tower you wont have issues , I reside in the area 19018 and couldn’t locate a reliable cell phone tower map. However so far I have inconsistent speed, (sometimes fast and sometimes slow) , currently I have the device as a backup , but I need to know, what are the tweaks I could use ?? Is this still in beta version ?? If I wanna switch to business with %G I need a reliable connection and so far its not working 100 % .Any help and suggestion highly appreciated
I have fixed t mobiles home internet from not connecting. My router is up stairs and my main computer is down stairs. I put a 5 Ethernet switch on the computer down stairs, so I could connect my printer. So when I try to connect to the internet, my computer would not connect, but I could connect through my phone or tablet, so I decided to disconnect my computer from the lan to the switch and now can connect to the internet without restarting my router. Everything is working fine. No drop signals. TV’s, laptops, tablets all working fine.
Does anyone have advice on charging the T-Mobile Hotspot to lengthen battery life? I don’t think to check the little box as often as I probably should for status on charging or battery usage. Is there a number of hours it should be plugged in versus unplugged? Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
RE: Router web-gui Authentication with admin & saving to browser (bug)Software version: 1.2103.00.0338Browsers: Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, FiredragonOS Tested: MacOS 11.6.3 Big Sur - Windows 10 (current updates) - LinuxNOTE: The nature of this behavior ONLY presents when one saves the admin authentication information in the browser. If the admin account authentication information is NOT saved to the browser this behavior is not seen. I have not seen other reports of this behavior but it only very recently surfaced for me due to the need to make a couple of changes. I previously had NO issue with the saved information and the one obvious factor that stands out to me is the newer 0338 code in the router.First encountered with Safari on MacOS 11.6.3 & Firefox with 1.2103.00.0338Characteristics: If the admin user credentials are saved in either of these two browsers there will be a prompt that presents to save updated authentication each time the authenticated “admin”
Question i have the T-Mobile WiFi gateway home internet and I was wondering I thought they where coming out with a update that fixes upnp on Xbox but it still shows up and where in my home is the best place to put the modem to get better signal all it shows on my screen is 3 bars and I have bad ping when I play online like rocket league also I heard u can put the gateway in modem mode only but how
I have the Tmobile-5E8E gateway and keep losing contact with my Sonos system on my iphone. It'll be fine all day then in the evening, my iphone Sonos app will say it can't find the Sonos system. Can I hook up an additional router to help correct this problem or is there a simpler solution? The funny thing is that when my iphone app says it can’t find the Sonos system, I can be right next to my laptop and I have no problem accessing Sonos. But NOT on my iphone.
Can 5G Gateway distribute internet with wired internet besides wi-fi? I’ve got the “Essentials 55.”Last night I tried locating it for first time in a room all by itself, it seemed to eventually settle into operation. I succeeded in connecting 1 laptop via wifi; but on my second desktop it doesn’t show any wifi available, nor does it show show it as an available network. I wonder if the Gateway has a wired capability. I still have this desktop running on the wired signal from my previous carrier (that used router & modem). But I’m trying to ditch that carrier completely. So the two ports on the Gateway, both Ethernet - are they meant to feed things like a cordless phone, a computer, or what? My old internet system had a port where the phone line connected. Now I’m trying to get a dial tone again, not sure why, still plugged in as before. The question of drivers is also a thought. Maybe it doesn’t need any?Yes if I sound confused it’s because I’m getting tired and mixed up - trying to
Is there anyway you can changed the tower your in home internet is connected to. I looked at our CGI number from the app and the tower my in home internet is connected to on cellmapper.com and the cell isn’t covering my house at all I looked around there were 2-3 other towers that are online that cover my house fully. With that being said our phones that are also T-Mobile get better signal so I don’t get why the inhome internet isn’t going off the towers that my phones are on if their both using 4g LTE
I want to replace my cable internet with the T-Mobile device. I received the device (Nokia) and started it up and have wireless access but want to have all my Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections go thru my existing router. In effect topologically, just have the T-Mobile device replace my cable modem. My router can be configured as an access point, but I have never configured or used an AP.Can I accomplish my goal simply by connecting the router to the T-Mobile device instead of the modem, telling the router it is now an access point and then disabling Wi-Fi in the T-Mobile device? If not or if there is an even better way, what would that be?Maybe unrelated, but an acquaintance recently got the same device and reports the speeds via ethernet of the T-Mobile device are much worse than via the wireless. I hope that’s not the norm because I have numerous gigabit Ethernet devices in my home network.
