Network & Coverage
Let's talk about our coverage, signal, and roaming experience.
LG Velvet 5G Hotspot keeps "reconnecting"
Attempted to use the hotspot on my LG Velvet 5G.It continuously cycles, in other words, it will be in 5G mode, then the 5G icon disappears and it comes back in 2-3 seconds. When it does this, all connected devices (my laptop) are knocked off and have to reconnect. It happens on a 2-3 minute basis. Since I have to use a VPN, this renders the hotspot useless. I’ve done all the standard things, rebooted, reconfigured, tried 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi hotspot options. This worked before the last upgrade. I drove around a couple of places to ensure this is not my local tower, same behavior.Anyone else experiencing this?
5G Promo Home Internet bandwidth really bad
I signed up for the 5G Home Internet $50/month, no limits, unlimited, etc. I was told that this was a first-come deal and I “got in.” The program said to be restricting the number of users on the tower(s) so that it is not overloaded with traffic. Well, guess what. My 60-80 Mbps drops to 1-3 Mbps for the majority of the work day. So, pretty much useless...and not worth the $50. Has anyone had this problem and received any kind of explanation? They say they are monitoring the towers to make sure “bad actors/activity” is controlled (unattended bot use, humongous bandwidth hogging, etc.). This is not reliable for home-office use.
Service Mostly Down
I live in Bullhead City AZ and my service has been especially horrible this week. Has anyone else experienced T-Mobile service being especially bad outside of Las Vegas area to Lake Havasu? I had important phone calls missed today, unable to send texts as well. How do I report outages or no service on the App? Definitely can't call to report. And it's not obvious on the app to report service issues. We were actually talking about getting a landline, something I haven't had in over a decade and a half! I had better service with Sprint. Since moving to T-Mobile our service degraded, even with the cellspot. This can't keep happening.
Intermittent iPhone VPN Connection - Does T-Mobile Throttle VPN traffic?
I am having intermittent access to the internet via VPN, via Accountable2You, on an iPhone SE-2. iOS 15.2, T-Mobile48. Accountable2You indicates " Some carriers prohibit (or slow) VPN traffic from mobile devices. In most cases, this restriction can be removed by contacting your mobile service provider. " Could this be the cause?Sometimes it works great! Sometimes it is very slow pulling up a website. Sometimes it never pulls up the site at all the first time and requires multiple retries.I have contacted T-Mobile. Waiting on a reply.
MOVING GREAT NO SERVICE!!!
I am a current TMobile customer, matter of fact just added a line for my daughter as well…. I live in the suburbs of atlanta and have ok 5g service…. but Im moving sometime in the middle of this month to Union Point Georgia...one of my daughters already lives there and it's actually her house Im moving to when she leaves for Seattle. problem is is when i visit there my service is minimal at best outside the home, go inside and hang it up it's a done deal you'll have absolutely NO service!! i know if i were to obtain a signal booster i could get service inside the house but how do i go about doing that? i've found a few of sprints signal boosters (Sprint AirUnity 587 Magic Box (B41HL) LTE Signal Booster) on a shopping site i use for next to nothing, could i use that here at t-mobile? and if not what should i be looking for to get to use as my signal booster? thanks
