Hello, My Gateway (for home internet) now requires that the window be open in order to function. I’ve seen multiple incidences of violence outside right outside of my window, and that I have to have my window opened for the Gateway to function makes me uncomfortable. As well, multiple times each day, the Gateway will not get a proper signal from the tower. My connectivity to my devices to the Gateway will be fine, but there will not be internet. These episodes last between 10-15 minutes and happen 5-6 times a day. My questions are:WHY does my Gateway need the window open, and WHAT can I do to get around this?WHY does it lose signal from the tower and is there anything that can be done by either me or you to fix this?WHY were neither of these issues present during my 15-day ‘test drive’ of the Gateway, but now are?
This is very annoying. I live in western Montana, yet when I’m online, websites show I’m in Seattle, Washington, more than 500 miles away and in a different time zone. Surely someone in T-Mobile’s IT department is smart enough to fix this.
Is there a work-around to make the two devices compatible?
Data accounting is wrong every month. I have the 150g lite plan and just about every month I start getting the data usage nastygrams saying I have reached my limit and the service will slow down. I have to endure pitifully slow performance and the next month I check my usage and it’s under the limit. What the heck is their problem? I’m paying for service and getting shut down at the end my billing cycle monthly. If they ever get another provider in my area I’m kicking T-Mobile to the curb never looking back.
i just upgraded and my plan is unlimited data but i STILL got a stupid alert saying i’ve used X amount of mobile hotspot data and they’re going to throttle it at 100%. What is this??? i have the highest level plan, why are they throttling me if i have unlimited data?
Is there a setting in the Home Internet setup so that my external IP is fixed or at least has a 24 hr TTL setting so that a simple reboot of the T-Mobile Home Internet router does not get a new address? This is a common setting on all WiFi routers for DHCP TTL … want the same thing for the external IP so that short reboots of the router do not get a new IP.
Why does my gateway show 5g but I have no 5g metrics? It show only lte metrics.
I have a Roku, and I thought that changing my zip code would solve this problem, but it doesn't. My commercials are for Rhode Island locations, but worse, I can't watch my local PBS Station. I suppose I shouldn't complain because it is letting me watch WGBH, one of the Boston stations, but still...
hi….i have 2 wyze security camera that constantly upload and wanted to know if i will be restricted to have a consistent 24/7 upload thsnks
Netflix has become unusable with our T-Mobile home internet. I have traced the problem to unusually high latency to the Netflix server. Pinging netflix.com shows that we are losing packets. The attached picture shows the latency of Netflix compared to HBO. Any internet experts with ideas?
Okay here's a head scratcher for you guys since I've got this internet okay I've only been able to get three bars never anything more and to top it all off I've never been over three and a half four and a half megs per second during the daytime but yet at night it automatically jumps up to about 25 to 35 megs per second and then when the sun comes up it drops back down to 1.3 to 2.3 so I started kind of paying attention to the times now about 8:00 9:00 in the morning the bandwidth drops to below five megs and will not go higher all day after 10:00 it jumps up to about 25and 35 I called T-Mobile multiple times explain the problem ask them what's going on they tell me everything's fine they said they're going to reset my deal they're going to do this and that and it should fix the problem but it still has yet to fix the problem. Oh and not to mention when I try to set up the the router with the T-Mobile app 90% of the time it tells me can't detect the signal I put in an invalid address a
I am trialing the 5G Gateway A, so far I’ve set up an iPhone, a Chromebook and an LG Smart TV.I’m also trying out YouTubeTV to test it because I want to cut the cable cord. The LG TV has lost the network connection a couple of times. We live in a Manufactured Home Community near the coast in Southern California. I moved the device to a spot closer to the TV. So far, so good. The device says I have a “Good” connection with 3 bars. I still need to add another TV and laptop, as well as another iPhone. We’d only be using one TV at a time. Is 3 bars sufficient? Is there a way to boost the connection? I’m not real tech saavy.
I have only T-Mobile home internet, and it says on their Mobile Tuesdays app that users are eligible, but when I use the “phone number” (it’s not a real phone number) to sign it, it says it’s sending a code to that number, but I don’t know how to check it because that number was just given to me by T-Mobile when I signed up for home internet. Sorry, that was a long sentence. Any idea what to do?
