International roaming / India - has issues
I have international roaming available as part of plan, but phone won’t connect to internet. I am currently in a city called Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The phone connects to a strong signal from Vodafone - India (and shows all bars are up on signal anywhere in city). But, when i try to start up chrome browser, it immediately shows “NO INTERNET”. Has been consistently doing it for past few days that i have been here. The obvious checks (Mobile data, Data roaming, Network operator etc) have all been checked. So, i am starting to think that vodafone india is throttling or cheating Tmobile on their end of the deal. If not, how can tmobile give me data service here ? I need to get this working soon, since i will be india for a while…..currently, i am getting by only on wifi connects.
Using my phone in Mexico
I am a T-Mobile subscriber and I am wondering if I can use my phone when I am in Cancun, Mexico next week? If so, when I am calling back to the US from Mexico, do I need to input an international code in front of the number I am calling and will I use the ‘1’ before the number?Thank you...Neil Blincow (firstname.lastname@example.org or 310 266 9546)
International Pass 15 GB/30 Days
Hi: I have a set of travel plans that calls for me to visit three different countries this month, but each time, I travel and come back home and then go to the next country. I am intending to purchase the 30 day International Pass (15GB) plan. So, the questions that i have are:Once I activate the plan for 30 days, whenever I visit home, the data that I use at home would still be counted towards the International Pass or will it be against my local usage? Essentially, the question is if I am away from home for 20 days, will the 15GB be measured against only those 20 days or all 30 days from the time of activation?Does the unlimited calling mean that when I am travelling internationally, any calls to other than the local country and the United States are considered free, or only allowed countries for free calling are visiting country and home (United States)?Your help on this very much appreciated. Thanks.
International Roaming Not Working
Hello,I entered Mexico on 2/20/22 on vacation and received my “Welcome to Mexico” automated text message telling me that I have international data. My data worked fine up until mid-day 3/3/22 and it has not worked since (now 3/8/22). I am unable to figure out why this is and I have tried just about everything with the phone including activating a new SIM and putting the SIM into a different phone. Everything posted here on the forums and on Google has not helped as well. Can you please look into this for me and let me know if there is some block on my account or something else going on? Thank you!Nick
Using my phone in the Philippines
I’m on the Magenta Max 55 plan and will be traveling to the Philippines later this month. I see a lot of confusing and contradictory information about costs and coverage while I’m there. In some places TMobile says the Philippines aren’t covered, in some places it says it is.Will there be fees for voice, text or data while in the Philippines? Are there limits on voice, text or data? Will buying an International Pass make any difference? And if you can point me to where I can find these questions answered clearly I’d really appreciate it.Thank you.-Brian
Unlimited free calls on 15GB/30 Days International Data Pass and Wi-Fi Calling
I was told by a retail sales rep at a T-Mobile retail store today that unlimited free calls to/from/within Simple Global countries on International Data Pass only works on Wi-Fi Calling and that without Wi-Fi calling the charges for each call is $.25/minute (Magenta plan). This does not seem right as this would mean locals calls made within a Simple Global country would result in an international call originating from the U.S. Instead of being a free call, I believe, this would result in a $3.00/minute call.Do we really need to turn on Wi-Fi Calling while on International Data Pass? I am planning a trip to Japan and don’t want any surprise billing when I return from the trip. Would appreciate any comment from people that have used this service.
International Travel - What does Magenta MAX Plans Cover?
Hello, everyone!Next month, my friends and I will be traveling to Europe for about two weeks. We will be using Delta Airlines and will also be taking a Royal Caribbean cruise for one of the two weeks. The countries that we will be visiting will include:Italy Greece Croatia FranceI recently switched to T-Mobile last week and am currently on the Magenta Max plan. While the representative that assisted me at the store was very informative, I realized belatedly that I had forgotten to ask a few questions in regards to how my plan will keep me connected during my trip. I have done a few searches on the website, but I feel like it doesn’t fully answer the questions that I have unless I am somehow overlooking it.The website mentions GoGo InFlight Wi-Fi - assuming that my flights allows me to utilize this, will it be unlimited or just one hour of usage? There would be 5 flights in two weeks, so if they all have this would that cover all flights or is there a limit to how many times I could use
Roaming İn Turkey
Hello, İ paid for international internet so that when İ travel to turkey i get free wifi but it didn't work at all. who can İ talk to to fix this or is there a solution? i cant download TMobile app since my playstore account is not made in USA also İ cant call the support number because it will be expensive
International Roaming in India
I am a TMO customer for last 10 months. I do substantial amount of international travel. I am currently in India and I took a Consumer Global Plus plan that gives you unlimited voice and 15 Gb of data . This worked seamlessly in Mumbai with no issues. As soon as I landed in Indore which is another town in central part of India, my phone is not connecting to any cellular network. I spend my entire day yesterday with TMO suppprt to resolve this issue but no luck. They also got Apple support who also looked at the issue and found no issues. They opened up the ticket with their Engineering team 25378726 .
International Data Pass not working when re-purchased
I was traveling in Europe in October and purchased an international data pass. It worked well but I ran out of data toward the end of the trip. I purchased another 5 GB (or perhaps 15, I forget). I received all the proper confirmations and was charged but I never received speeds above the 256 kbps. This continued for 5 days, regardless of restarting the phone, having 5G, being in downtown vs. countryside, etc. It was like the pass never got activated. Fast forward to December… Got to Europe again and received a text stating I had 5 GB of FREE high-speed data. Perfect. It worked beautifully. However, when it ran out, I purchased an international pass (5 GB this time). Again, received all proper notifications, restarted phone, etc. and haven’t received speeds over 256 kbps. TL:DR it seems like the first batch of international data with T-mobile works beautifully but then when I purchase/acquire a second pass… it never formally activates on the backend, regardless of what I do. Any ideas?
Alaska Cruise - International Roaming 10 Day Pass
Elderly parents are on an Alaskan cruise currently with 10 day International Roaming plan per the rep’s recommendation. She told me that they would have data on the ship and Alaska and Canada with the International Roaming plan ($35/line or $70 for 2 lines). I confirmed twice with her and she sent a text with her “personal” guarantee.Today, I got a text that my parent’s $80+ in international call charges for each line?? That’s close to $300 for the charges and the International Roaming. I thought for sure it was a mistake, bc I activated International Roaming before their cruise started. I messaged them to put on airplane mode while we figure this out. It’s been 6 hours and still no call from the supervisor. When I call into Tmobile, they won’t address my issue because it’s already been assigned to a supervisor.I”m finding online that parents’ ship - Discovery Princess is NOT covered, contrary to what the rep told me. I’m not sure if this is true whether you bought the Internat
My family and I are traveling in Europe for about 2 months. We have the Magenta Max plan which says that there is unlimited international data roaming, however, the fine print states that data usage might be blocked or charged for ‘significant roaming’. Last summer on a similar trip, we ended up with a huge bill for data roaming. What is considered excessive roaming? And how can we keep track?
All International Data NOT working after purchasing data pass
Hi All. I’m currently in France, on Magenta Plus and have a Pixel 4a. I’ve had problems with my international data with this trip and haven’t had problems in my previous trips to Europe. From the beginning, the phone/SIM didn’t automatically register that I was in Europe, whereas my partner’s phone did. After being on the phone with tmobile’s customer service for 2.5 hours telling me to restart the wireless data/airplane mode/restart phone and everything on my phone (except factory reset), it turned out to be something on tmobile’s network side that had to be adjusted/reset. International 2G roaming eventually worked but after trying to purchase an international data day pass, the same thing happened. I lost all international roaming ability. I got back on the phone with customer service and they had to reset/adjust whatever it was on their side again for me to have the 2G international data. I was dumb enough to try again to purchase the international data day pass right now and again
International Roaming Data being throttle too much
I’m on the Magenta Max 55+ plan. I specifically took it out because I travel a lot and was finding the normal roaming data speed of 128Kbps unusable. Magenta Max+ is supposed to give double this - 256Kbps but I never get this download speed. In the UK my phone connects to either T-Mobile or Vodafone UK depending on location. These speed tests were done with full signal strength bars and LTE showing:T-Mobile down 70 Kbps up 240 Kbps down 80 Kbps up 220 Kbps down 60 Kbps up 230 KbpsVodafone UK down 110 Kbps up 230 Kbps down 120 Kbps up 250 Kbps and it’s not just the UK. In Ireland over Christmas I got the following speeds: down 80 Kbps up 240 Kbps down 80 Kbps up 230 Kbps I understand about the phone connecting to the networks at a high speed and ‘throttling’ being performed by T-Mobile depending on plan. But my connection seems to be throttled too much and I’m not getti
International pass not working.
I purchased a 30 day international pass for my wife’s Iphone 13 for her trip to Romania in January of 2023. I did not accompany her on the trip. She could not get it working during her visit. She had to rely on WIFI connections the entire time. We made sure that roaming was enabled and we also tried #RON# with no success. My sister in law had the same issue in February. She also has an Iphone 13. We all have the Magenta MAX 55+ plan. My wife’s phone and mine have ESIM’s but everything I’ve read says the ESIM shouldn’t make a difference. My wife is planning a return trip in April 2023 and would really like to be assured that T Mobile will work as advertised. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
iPhone 13 Pro - eSim - Use in Europe with another carrier via Sim card?
I’ll be traveling to Italy in September. I have an iPhone 13 Pro with an eSim, on T-Mobile. while I know I can pre-buy international plans from T-Mobile including those with data, on my last trip in 2017 I found that the data speed availability (then with my iPhone 6S) was 2G if lucky, and generally below; that was essentially useless. I don’t know which carrier(s) T-Mobile uses in Italy, but it was dreadful. For this year, I’m considering buying a SIM card over there. However, since I don’t have a SIM card in my phone now, I don’t know how this is going to work. Will it totally disable the eSim? Will I have to go back to a T-Mobile store in the USA upon my return to make the eSim work again? Or, will it revert to the eSim when I remove the Italian SIM? Will I have to “wipe my phone” in order to do any or all of this?I want to use the phone for navigation while over there, so reasonably good data is essential. I could barely get email or messages over 2G back in 2017 and do NOT want tha
Traveling to France with Magenta Max and iPhone 13
I want to use my iPhone in France for text messaging, web surfing and google maps (I hardly ever make or receive phone calls). When I land in France, will my iPhone and plan just continue to work or do I need to something? I want to confirm what I read. My understanding is that with Magenta Max, phone calls in and out will be $0.25 per minute, text messaging and data are free, but at much slower network speeds. Is this accurate or do I need to buy an international plan?
Magenta Max international coverage
We have Magenta Max and have used it extensively in Italy, France and Albania. My wife is now travelling in Spain and Greece, and she has no coverage in those countries. Her phone was recently upgraded. Could there be a missing setting that enables Magenta Max for her?
Travel Internationally in Taiwan
I am currently on T Mobile Magenta Unlimited 55. I plan to travel to Taiwan for 3 months without to buy any international plan and local SIM card. Because I will not use my phone to make calls there, but I need to use my Wi-Fi to receive messages. In this case, could I get any extra charge during my stay? Thanks
