Wrong/unknown device showing on my.tmobile.com 2020

It’s extremely frustrating, I have major OCD and when I log into my account it drives me crazy that it shows a different device compared to what I really have. I know this doesn't impact my services but a mobile carrier should have it right. One thing I think I came to the conclusion and the engineers might need to fix this, is if you purchase an iPhone from Apple “Sim Free” it’ll show a different type of iPhone. I used to have a “sim free” iPhone 11 Pro 256GB Space gray and online it would show that phone but say I have it the midnight green 64GB. I upgraded recently to the Max and it's doing the same thing! I get my phones from apple because with trade-in, and my friend who works for apple gets me a 15% discount it just makes sense for me to do it this way.  Just extremely frustrating that the engineers at T-Mobile can’t get it together to get this problem fixed. We used to have the option to select the device and save it, can we bring that back???? Thanks.

Autopay shutoff for no reason...

Super pissed… auto pay shut off for no reason and now I am being charged an extra 10 bucks on the next month, because I had to manually pay it… what is this  T-mobile… super sketchy… remind me again why I don’t leave you right now?

Issues getting account set up

Okay so -- I signed up for a single line t-mobile essentials account almost 2 months ago now. I then made a t-mobile.com account. The account told me to enter my mobile number to link it -- which I didn’t have yet, so I waited for my bill to arrive. When it did, I attempted to link my number, I get the error: “The phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx is already registered to another T-Mobile ID. Please try another phone number or click here.” The click here link just logs me out. I’ve contacted chat support, and they told me to contact phone support. I’ve contacted phone support as well, and was told that a ticket would have to be filed, and that I’d be called back. I never was. I can’t setup my account online to manage and pay my bill or anything else after almost 2 months and I have no idea what to do, and I’m really frustrated. Any ideas?

Do NOT download Scam Shield on your Phone: it's a T-Mobile scam!

Like many of you, I got communication from T-Mobile that recommended downloading the new featutre Scam Shield to supposedly filter scams. As an idiot, I downloaded that app on my phone, and set up the preferences to the strictest scam filters.And now, I’m getting way more scam/marketing calls than I’ve ever had!T-Mobile are the same scumbags as other telcos. Do. Not. Trust. T-Mobile.I’ve now deleted that nefarious “scam shield” app from  y phone, and am considering reporting this to the CA AG.

So with the onset of SIM swap attacks as well as numerous links over the year I wanted to start a discussion to talk about things that we as consumers can do to better protect ourselves. As well as I hope to share information and ideas to T-mobile to improve their security when it comes to our accouts.For those of you who don’t know about  the scam that has been going on a attacker will pretend to be you to get T-mobile to assign them a sim card with your number. It is a type of account takeover fraud that generally targets a weakness in two-factor authentication and two-step verification in which the second factor or step is a text message or call placed to a mobile telephone. Think whenever a bank for example sends you the little 6 digit code to your phone to reset a password as a example.I believe T-mobile should have measures in place that allow for a customer to require a instore visit as a pre-requiste before any kind of change like that can occur. T-mobile should also be sending

Why does my mobile hotspot disconnect every 5 minutes?

I rely on my hotspot a lot to work from home because I live in a more rural area and for the past 3 weeks my hotspot disconnects any time I try to use a feature on my phone, check a text, etc. There are also times that no other apps are open on my phone and I have a strong connection and my hotspot disconnects every 5 minutes.

Rebate keeps getting denied repeatedly (everyday)

Hello everyone,  My problem is simple yet extremely annoying  and it seems like the T mobile customer support is helpless. I switched to T mobile two months or so ago and they had a promotion of “bring your line/phone, and get $200 off per line” (upto 4 lines per account). I ported 7 lines and applied for the rebate on 4 of the lines (as stated by the promotion). After 6-8 weeks I check the status and it says “Denied” with “no eligible/Port in found”. So I called the customer support and after an hour or so of verification, the lady manually approves all the rebates. She told me that I will get a text for a virtual mastercard/visa so I should keep checking for the status. At that point I was relieved and thought it was all done.  The very next day I check the rebate status page and  it says denied again with the same exact reason. So I called again, went through the same 1 hour of verification and the person manually approves everything and tells me to keep checking. So all good and

domestic violence and transfers of service

I'm leaving an abusive relationship, and would like to be able to keep my phone and device payments and assume liability so that I can continue to exist and survive without this person. They set up a tmobile app that sends my texts to their phone before I receive them. Because of this it has been even harder for me to move on , and I truly wonder how many other people are being abused or not able to leave their abusers safely because of this app that you offer . Do not waste my time with empathy if you have no solution .

200mb free for life plan: Devices have no data service, but can go to tmobile.com

Hi everyone. I have two devices that have been long since active on the 200mb data for life plan. One is an ipad, one is an android tablet.The android tablet is my work tablet as a wildland fire administrator. It only gets pulled out during fire season, so it spends a long period of time off and in storage. Yesterday, I got sent to an assignment, so I bought a 30 day data pass for the tablet. I got the text saying it was active and my purchase was successful.However, I have no data services on the device whatsoever, EXCEPT, i can browse any t-mobile website including my.t-mobile.com No apps work, no other websites.The ipad pretty much stays in my bedroom as a reading device, and is constantly on wifi, so i wouldnt notice if it worked or didnt work on the mobile network. However, as part of my troubleshooting with the OTHER line, i disabled wifi, and (this tablet should have 200mb available to use) like the android, I cannot browse any other website thats not t-mobileThings I have confi

Is it possible to send a text message through your PC?

Occasionally Ill get a text while Im on my laptop and Im just wondering is there an app or something I can download that is provided by T-Mobile, or by Samsung, that allows me to text the person in my phone through my computer rather than my phone?This would also be helpful for those long winded messages that need to be sent that you just dont feel like texting all through your phone, and could type much faster and with more accuracy through your computer.

I received a text thanking me for my business. When I clicked the link it said that I had won a TV. After taking a survey and told me that I have to pay shipping for the TV and asked for my information. Is this a scam?

We can’t add a phone to your plan online alert

I went to www.tmobile.com and I logged in successfully. From there I navigated to https://my.t-mobile.com/purchase/device-intent  and that’s when I was told that I could not add a line to my account online and I needed to contact customer service. Attached screenshot.I‘m a new customer. It’s probably been at least 2 weeks since I joined and I already paid my first bill successfully online. I came over from Verizon and brought over my iPhone & Apple Watch. The retail store was nice enough to get me setup with new eSims so my watch and iPhone worked and I kept my same number and it ported over successfully.Prior to going to the store (few days prior) I had gone to Tmobile website and ordered a SIM card and told the website I was bringing over my own device and number. I meant to choose: visit store, but ended up choosing the mail me a SIM option, which took a little over a week to arrive via mail, so that’s why I opted to visit a store instead to expedite the process of moving over t

Transfer a phone number between T-Mobile accounts

So I am currently on a phone plan with my ex and looking to take myself off and onto a new plan. Store associates already told me they have no way of transferring numbers and phones between accounts which is crazy and really should be a thing but whatever. Apparently the only way and quickest way is to port the number out to another company and then port it back in. Does anyone know what companies this works best with and will work nicely with T-Mobiles system? I don't want to accidentally go with a company that is going to make the process difficult and take weeks or months.

What happens if I don't return my device through the JUMP! benefit?

I got a new phone through the JUMP! benefit and have to send my old phone back. What happens if I don't return it? Due to me not having a printer and COVID-19 (meaning I can't go to a store where I can print the label), I won't be able to return my device on time.What happens if I either don't return the device, or return the device late? Will I get charged a fee or something? And if so, how much?I'll be able to print out a label for the device once I return to work and can go to the post office then to drop off the phone, but I don't think the device will reach the warehouse by the date they want me to return it by.Thanks in advance for any help.

Moving VVM to new phone

Had VVM on old phone (Android 6) and about 2 dozen saved voicemail messages.  Transferred everything to a new phone (Android 10) but VVM app shows only one voice message from about a week ago (before I got the new phone), but not the rest of them.  I assume the voice messages are stored locally on the old phone, but where are they and were do I put them on the new phone?  I checked the old phone and they are still there, but still not on the new phone.

IRS Verify Account via Text Message

I need to get a copy of my tax returns so I can file 2019 and the only way I can get them is through their online process, where you verify yourself 6 different ways and the final verification is entering your cell phone number, and somehow they use that through t-mobile to verify I am who I am and I think send me a text message.There's a thread exactly what I"m experiencing here, it's marked as resolved, but it isn't, if you read the comments.Still can't verify T-Mobile phone # with IRS.gov Due to Covid19, this is the only way to get a copy of prior tax return.My CID and name on account matches what t-mobile has. I've been a t-mobile customer with the same phone number for 14 or 17 years.Help is appreicated.Thanks.

Cannot pay the bill due because our account was deleted and our lines are suspended

Hi, So, me and my three friends have a four lines plan at T mobile. We are all international students. Due to COVID-19, we all went back home and we forgot to cancel our Tmobile plan. When we remembered, our lines are all suspended and our account was deleted. So, we called Tmobile support and going to a Tmobile store. They said we had about $200 due but we cannot pay through Tmobile anymore and he cannot help us pay because they already transfer the payment collection to a collection agency. The problem is that we all live on campus and the addresses we gave are the university addresses. And now none of us are also in the US to get the letters sent from the collection company. We would like to pay the bills but we do not know how right now. Please help!

Familywhere location inaccuracy

I’ve tried contacting T-Mobile about there gps inaccuracy on familywhere.. but was unsuccessful with fixing it. My issue is the gps is showing different locations even though  we are all at home and or in the same location. How do we fix it???

Why is my mobile hotspot so much slower than my regular data connection?

Hello all. I'd like to know why my mobile hotspot speeds are so much slower than my regular data connection. I have the old $70 unlimited plan from several years ago, when T-Mobile first started changing things. I have 4G LTE data, and even the mobile hotspot add-on (according to my T-Mobile app) supposedly uses the LTE network and not some slower speed.However, it has been this way for a long time, not just recently. My download speeds when I test it on the phone itself, using the data connection, are decent. The one I just did was 12Mbps. But when I followed that up with a speed test on my PC, using the mobile hotspot, it was 1.33Mbps!Why is this? Does the T-Mobile hotspot throttle your data speeds automatically? I've only used 0.1 GB of my allotment, so I know I haven't gone over. This is pretty terrible. Please help!Thanks,John
